We made it!
On Wednesday we officially closed out our Whole30 experience and I’m proud to say that 4 out of 5 of us made it through without cheating even once. I’m down 10 lbs and I feel really good. J dropped 20 lbs and Flip flops is practically unrecognizable with a 30 lb drop (though he’s been doing manual labor and working out a lot).
We celebrated with a dinner out (a rare treat for a family of five) and even had dessert. Amazingly, I got one tortilla into my fajita and realized I was full. While I would normally power through, this time…I just stopped.
It was kind of empowering.
Next steps? We’re committed to eating clean and ramping up our veggie intake while cutting down on carbs. We’re still feeling out the future, but we definitely feel like this experience had changed our relationship with food.
